Now me…

I’m Kathleen Alexander, the person behind Clever Fox. I’m here to guide you (sometimes I prod and poke as well) to get you moving towards the direction of your ideal career or business.

I started out as a corporate chick with big ambitions. After graduating with a BA in Business Management from the US, I thought I struck gold when I was hired to be part of a newly formed team at an advertising agency in Kuala Lumpur to work on the rebranding of a major airline.

My next port of call was Hong Kong where I worked in marketing for News Corp’s Star TV and Time Warner’s Cartoon Network & Turner Classic Movies. By age 30, I was promoted to Marketing Director relocating to sunny Sydney to take up the role.

Just when I thought everything would fall into place, the rumblings began….

To cut a long story short, I quit my job (much to the horror of my mother) to heed my call to adventure – starting up my own business. The longer version includes detours such as visiting Uganda for the overseas aid and development agency I did a stint with, sleeping in swags under the stars on my first outback trip and learning a heap of new stuff about creativity, entrepreneurship and human behavior. I also moved cities again. This time to Melbourne, where Clever Fox was conceived. I still live in Melbourne with my French husband and two rescue Australian Kelpies, Jesse and Chilli.

Through Clever Fox, I’ve worked with wonderful clients from Perth to Puerto Rico (and of course here in Melbourne) helping them heed their own call to adventure in creating and pursuing careers or businesses opportunities they are passionate about.

What’s In A Name?

People often tell me they love the name Clever Fox (I do too!) so I thought I’d share the story behind the name.

Foxes are known  for their wit and intelligence. You can find them about anywhere in the world- from dry deserts to the vast expanses of the Arctic tundra, and even city fringes and in downtown Melbourne. The secret to their success is their ability to adapt and respond to their surrounds.

When we work together, we’ll be making inroads, leaping swiftly across barriers, and thriving – just like a clever fox would! That pretty much sums up what name is all about.
